Here at Madeleines, we make delicious sweet and savory foods in the French AND French-Canadian traditions. Everything is made here at the shop, by our skilled chefs. Our ingredients are everything they should be...delicious European style chocolates and fillings, cream, butter, and our buttercream is the REAL thing.

What is a classic French cake?
Classic French cakes are not the single or double-layered, frosting-kissed treats that we enjoy here in the U.S. They are many-layered, lush and include ingredients such as flavored mousse, buttercreams, delicious syrups, fruits, more familiar cake layers and more. Specific ingredients vary with the recipe. They are very rich, filling and luxurious.

Maddies Wedding and Occasion Cakes

Yule Logs!
Ho Ho Ho! That's right, we make Yule Logs. For the uninitiated, a Yule Log is a holiday treat of ladyfinger or joconde (almond) sponge cake, rolled up with real flavored buttercream and decorated with whimsical woodland touches, like meringue mushrooms. HOWEVER, we make them for other occasions too...Fall themed logs covered with fondant leaves, Easter logs in lovely Spring pastels, with flowers...if you have an idea for a new one, let us know!
