How many pork pies can one holiday pastry elf assemble in one afternoon?  Well, that depends on a lot...how fast can you roll that dough?  How fast can you fill that pie (keep in mind that you will be distracted, the whole time, by the DELICIOUS smell of the spices, and the great smell of fresh dough)?  And can you do it all and still make the pie pretty...that's important!

In my particular case, the answer, so far, is 15 pies, in one afternoon.  I'm kind of a dough rolling weenie (it's quite the upper body workout!), but I'm getting better.  On Monday I should get a chance (weather permitting) to try to break my own record!  And when I'm done...the cookies...keep an eye out for CHOCOLATE Linzer Tortes this week.  They are my favorite!

It's also what we call a large Mogador (a chocolate-raspberry mousse cake), hand decorated by Chef Paul.  Wow!  Perfect for holiday parties...

Our thanks to all of you who came to Madeleines for shelter and sustenance from the storm.  Your tales of your adventures and misadventures with the ice kept us busy all weekend.  We were glad to be there for you!

Thanks to your eager appetites, the elves have come to bake your favorites for Tuesday morning!

We just got wind that the December issue of New Hampshire Magazine includes a Madeleines plug...as soon as it's posted online we'll post it here...!  If you can't wait (and we couldn't) grab a copy of the magazine because it's out on newsstands n-o-w...yeehaw!
